Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
International students in Canada who have completed an eligible post-secondary program of study which is at least 8 months long can apply for the Post Graduation Work Permit.
This work permit will be valid for a period of 8 months up to 3 years, depending on the length of the program which you have completed.
Being able to work in Canada will give you valuable work experience for your career, and can also be the last piece of the puzzle in making you eligible to apply for PR.
Because so many international students want to apply for PR in Canada, we always recommend that you take a program of at least 1 year in length to give you a chance to get enough work experience to apply for PR under the Canadian Experience Class.
Not all schools are give their graduates the ability to apply for the Post Graduate Work Permit, so make sure that you confirm before you apply and begin attending school.
