Effective January 1, 2024, any student who completes a one-year college graduate certificate from an Ontario college and has obtained an Ontario College Graduate Certificate is now eligible to apply under the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Those who submitted an application prior to this date are unaffected by this change. In the past, candidates holding a one-year certificate from an authorized institution could only apply via the OINP’s International Student stream in cases where entrance to the program required the completion of a degree. That’s not the situation anymore.
Multiple streams are available for permanent residency (PR) under the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program, often known as the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The International Student Stream is one of them; it grants PR to recent graduates from any part of Canada. What we know is that the International Students Stream in Ontario, Canada, is part of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), designed to attract and retain international students who have completed their studies in Ontario and wish to transition to Canadian permanent residence. This stream targets foreign nationals who have completed a Canadian educational credential and who have a job offer from an Ontario employer.
