On October 23, 2023, the final IEC 2023 (International Experience Canada program) season round of invitations for all lingering pools will expire. On January 9, the IEC 2023 season was underway. There are still 16,854 open slots for IEC participants as of October 6. According to the latest update from the IEC, applications for the current season are presently being processed in six weeks.

International Experience Canada (IEC) allows young people from various countries to obtain work permits and travel in Canada for temporary periods. Eligibility criteria can vary depending on the specific IEC category you’re interested in, but the general requirements are:
- Age: Applicants must be within a certain age range of 18 to 35
- Nationality: You must be a citizen of a country that has a bilateral youth mobility agreement or arrangement with Canada.
- Health: You may be required to undergo a medical examination.
- Insurance: Participants must have health insurance coverage for the entire duration of their stay in Canada.
- Funds: You must demonstrate that you have enough money to support yourself during your initial stay in Canada.

How to apply:
- Post your profile through your IRCC account in order to be considered for an invitation. You can use the same account if you already submitted a profile, but you must establish a new profile.
- Obtain a formal invitation: You need to be invited before you can submit an application for a work permit.
- Submit an application for a work permit: You have 10 days to decide whether to accept the invitation, and if you agree, you will have 20 days to prepare and submit your application after that.
Important note: You must submit your profile before 9 a.m. Eastern Time. There are still 16,854 open slots for IEC participants.
