The International Experience Canada (IEC) Program’s 2024 season is currently accepting applications, with the goal of bringing about 90,000 youth from IEC partner nations and territories to Canada for participation. A profile can be submitted as early as December 11, 2023, for those who are interested in applying. The initial step in applying to one or more of the International Experience Canada (IEC) pools is to register as a candidate if you wish to travel and work briefly in Canada.

International Experience Canada (IEC) allows young people from various countries to obtain work permits and travel in Canada for temporary periods. Eligibility criteria can vary depending on the specific IEC category you’re interested in, but the general requirements are:
1. Age: Applicants must be within a certain age range of 18 to 35
2. Nationality: You must be a citizen of a country that has a bilateral youth mobility agreement or arrangement with Canada.
3. Health: You may be required to undergo a medical examination.
4. Insurance: Participants must have health insurance coverage for the entire duration of their stay in Canada.
5. Funds: You must demonstrate that you have enough money to support yourself during your initial stay in Canada.

IEC offers three categories:
- Working Holiday: Allows participants to work and travel in Canada for a specific period, usually up to 12 or 24 months.
- Young Professionals: Designed for individuals with a job offer in Canada that contributes to their professional development.
- International Co-op (Internship): For students who need to complete an internship or work placement in Canada as part of their studies.
How to apply?
- Post your profile through your IRCC account in order to be considered for an invitation. You can use the same account if you already submitted a profile, but you must establish a new profile.
- Obtain a formal invitation. You need to be invited before you can submit an application for a work permit.
- Submit an application for a work permit. You have 10 days to decide whether to accept the invitation, and if you agree, you will have 20 days to prepare and submit your application after that.
