Purpose of the Consultation
Our consultations are designed to provide you with clear, actionable advice from experienced, licensed immigration consultants who specialize in the area of Canadian immigration most relevant to your case. However, please note that we do not review or assess completed immigration applications during consultations. Application reviews are a different service.
Instead, our focus is on assessing your eligibility for various immigration programs, discussing your options if you’ve been refused, guiding you on how to interpret ATIP (Access to Information and Privacy) notes, and helping you understand the next steps for a strong application.
If You Have a Prior Refusal
If you have previously been refused for any immigration application, we recommend emailing us a copy of your refusal letter prior to your consultation. This will allow us to understand the issues in your case and provide relevant guidance during your meeting.
Consultation Format and Attendees
Our consultations are held via video, allowing for a face-to-face, professional experience. If you would like to include your partner, spouse, or any other relevant person, we are happy to accommodate multiple attendees. Each consultation is designed to be one hour long, but if your session wraps up with 30 minutes or more remaining, we are glad to apply the remaining time toward a second consultation for follow-up questions or additional topics.
Consultation Hours and Time Zone
Consultations are available from 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern Standard Time, Monday to Friday, unless otherwise agreed upon in advance. All appointments are set for one hour, providing ample time to discuss your questions, options, and immigration path in detail.
Consultation Fees and Cancellation Policy
We value your time and commitment, and our policies reflect the importance of a mutual commitment to the consultation:
- Consultation fees are non-refundable if a cancellation request is received less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Any cancellations must be made by email.
- You can reschedule your consultation appointment once without incurring additional charges if necessary.
- If you do not attend the scheduled consultation (a no-show) or cancel within 48 hours, the consultation fee will be forfeited, and you will need to pay a new fee to reschedule.
Respectful Conduct Policy
We strive to create a supportive, professional environment and expect all clients to maintain respectful conduct throughout the consultation. Rudeness, inappropriate language, and aggressive behavior will not be tolerated, as our goal is to ensure a positive experience for both clients and consultants. We reserve the right to end the consultation early if behavior guidelines are not followed.
Follow-Up After Your Consultation
After your consultation, we offer a maximum of 2-3 follow-up questions, which can be asked within five days of your appointment. These follow-ups are for brief, simple questions directly related to the content of your consultation. If you have more complex inquiries or questions beyond this limit, we will kindly require you to schedule a new consultation.
If You Retain
Any fees discussed during a consultation include a discount for the consultation fee. So, if you choose to hire Doherty Fultz Immigration within five days of your consultation, you’ll pay exactly what was quoted during the meeting. After those five days, regular fees may apply.
