A fresh round of applications for Canada’s Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship program (PGSP) have been announced. The process of issuing invitations to apply to a total of 24,200 potential sponsors will begin on October 10, 2023, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). In 2023, the IRCC will only accept up to 15,000 fully completed applications for the Canadian Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship program. Additionally, the immigration department stated that these invites will be sent out over a two-week period beginning on the same date, October 10, 2023. The IRCC will be sending these invitations to apply to randomly chosen potential sponsors from the pool of submissions dating back to the year 2020, which is a significant departure from the previous method of creating a new interest to sponsor form. This strategy tries to speed up the application process and make the most of already submitted materials.
Who is eligible to apply for this PGSP?
- At least to be 18 years old
- Person who is a citizen of Canada, a permanent resident of Canada, or who is recognized as an Indian by the Canadian Indian Act
- Person who meets the IRCC’s financial standards and have enough money to sustain the family they want to sponsor

Who is eligible for Super Visa?
- Have a child or grandchild who is a Canadian permanent resident or citizen
- Possess a signed letter from your kid or grandchild inviting you to visit Canada, together with information on the individuals who will be living in their home, the number of people who will be living there, and a copy of the person’s citizenship or permanent residence card.
- Possess documentation proving private medical insurance from an organization in Canada or from one outside the country that has been authorized by the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship.
- Be outside of Canada at the time of application
