The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Foreign Worker Stream is a program designed to attract and retain qualified foreign workers to the province of Ontario. If the application is approved, the applicant will be issued a work permit, which will allow them to work in Ontario for up to two years. After two years, the applicant may be eligible to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

- A copy of the foreign worker’s work experience documents;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s language proficiency results;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s police clearance certificate;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s medical examination results;
- A proof of funds document; and
- A copy of the employer’s business registration documents.
Once the nomination application is submitted, the employer will be notified of the OINP’s decision. If the nomination application is approved, the employer will be issued a nomination certificate. The foreign worker must then submit an application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The foreign worker will be required to provide the following documents to IRCC
- A copy of the nomination certificate;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s passport;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s educational documents;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s work experience documents;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s language proficiency results;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s police clearance certificate;
- A copy of the foreign worker’s medical examination results; and
- A proof of funds document.
Once the application for permanent residence is submitted, the foreign worker must wait for IRCC to review the application. If the application is approved, the foreign worker will be issued a permanent residence visa and will be able to move to Canada.
