Renew or Extend Your Study Permit
As long as an application to renew their study permit has been submitted BEFORE it expires, the student can continue to study and/or work in Canada under the same conditions.
This means that you can continue to go to school and work either on or off campus until a final decision is made on your application to extend your status as a student.

If a study permit expires, then the student can apply to restore their status as a student within 90 days of the expiry date.
Fees
Under most circumstances, study permit extensions cost between $400 – $500 + government application fees. For a restoration, the government charges an additional $100.
